Beginner's Kumihimo: The Art of Japanese braiding

Beginner's Kumihimo: The Art of Japanese braiding. Originally used to braid lacing for the Samurais’ armor, today it is a popular jewelry making technique. The literal translation of Kumihimo means the "coming together (kumi) of threads (himo)". It’s fast, easy, and fun! Our Beginner's class shows you how to make the basic round Kumihimo braid. 

Level: Beginner – No previous braiding or jewelry making experience required.
Technique Learned: Basic 8-Strand Round Braid using a foam Kumihimo disk
Length of Class: 2 Hours

Cost: $45, includes all materials, including Beginner's kit. (The Kit for beginners includes the Kumihimo braiding disc-zap jewelry gel- 8 bobeez no tangle thread bobbins- findings kit plus a rattail braid color mix.) Pre-registration with pre-payment required to make sure we have enough materials on hand and room in the class.
